How to Sell Your Luxury Watch in Dubai for the Best Price
A lot of people who buy luxury watches eventually reach a point where they want to sell them. Maybe they want a different model. Maybe they need cash. Maybe they just got tired of that watch. Nothing wrong with that. This game has always been like this.
But here is the problem. Most of them don’t know how to sell.
Just yesterday someone called me. He said I have a Rolex Daytona. He said some shop offered me 45 thousand dirhams. I asked did you check the papers? He said what papers. I said the same papers they gave you when you bought it. He went quiet. Then he said to be honest I lost the box and the card.
This is where the difference starts.
Step one. Find your papers
If you don’t have the box, you lose money. If you don’t have the warranty card, you lose more money. If you don’t have either, a professional dealer will lower your price by twenty percent from the very beginning.
This is not unfair. This is risk calculation.
The dealer doesn’t know where the watch came from. He doesn’t know if it was yours or you bought it second hand. He doesn’t know how many times it has been repaired. So to protect himself, he gives you less money.
So before anything else, turn your house upside down. Check the drawers. Look inside the closets. Maybe the box fell into a corner somewhere. Maybe the cards are stuck between some books.
If you find them, great. If not, at least know what you have lost.
Sell Your Luxury Watch in Dubai
A cleaner way to sell high-end watches with direct communication, proper review, and a more premium private seller experience.
Luxury Watch Buying
We buy luxury watches from private sellers in Dubai with a more direct and polished process that feels clear from the first conversation.
Trusted Evaluation
Condition, reference, originality, market demand, and completeness all matter. That is where serious evaluation makes a real difference.
Fair Market Offer
The goal is not a random quote. It is a realistic offer based on the watch itself and how that reference actually moves in the Dubai market.
Quick Contact
If you already know the watch you want to sell, the fastest step is simple. Reach out directly and speak with Behzadi Boutique.
Step two. Know what you are selling
A lot of people think Rolex is just Rolex. But a Rolex Submariner 14060 is different from a Rolex Submariner 126610. The first one is old and collectors like it. The second one is new and the market is hot for it.
Their prices are different. Sometimes thousands of dollars different.
Go find the reference number. Look between the lugs. Look at the case back. If you don’t know how to find it, take a photo and search on Google. Or ask the same dealers you want to sell to. If the dealer is honest, he will tell you what model you have. If he sees you don’t know, he might take advantage of you.
So figure it out yourself first.
Step three. In Dubai you have three kinds of buyers
The first kind are the gold and watch shops near the airport or in the Gold Souk. They have cash and they buy fast. But their prices are low. Really low. Because they need their own profit and their money sits idle until they sell the watch.
The second kind are the big watch stores that also have a pre owned section. These ones are more professional. They give better prices. But they take their time. Sometimes three days to give you a final answer. Some of them won’t even talk to you without the box and papers.
The third kind are private collectors and professional middlemen. They give the best price, but they also say no easily. If your watch is not a special model, they won’t waste their time.
From what I have seen, start with the first kind to get a base price. Then go to the second and third kind. It is always better to check a few places.
Best-Selling Luxury Watches in Dubai
Some watches move faster than others in Dubai. These are the names and model families that usually attract the strongest attention from buyers, traders, and collectors.
| Brand | Popular Models | Why They Sell Well | Buyer Demand | Market Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rolex | Submariner, Datejust, GMT-Master II, Daytona | Strong brand trust, instant recognition, high liquidity | Very High | Usually one of the easiest luxury watch brands to resell in Dubai |
| Patek Philippe | Nautilus, Aquanaut, Calatrava | Collector appeal, prestige, limited availability | High | Sport models often attract the fastest serious inquiries |
| Audemars Piguet | Royal Oak, Royal Oak Offshore | Strong luxury image, design recognition, collector demand | High | Well-kept Royal Oak references stay highly desirable |
| Cartier | Santos, Tank, Ballon Bleu | Elegant design, broad appeal, wearable for daily use | High | Often popular with buyers who want style and brand prestige together |
| Richard Mille | RM 011, RM 07, RM 035 | Ultra-luxury status, exclusivity, strong recognition in high-end circles | Niche High | Smaller buyer pool, but very strong interest at the top end |
| Omega | Speedmaster, Seamaster, Constellation | Strong brand history, lower entry point than Rolex | Solid | Moves well when condition and pricing are right |
| Hublot | Big Bang, Classic Fusion | Bold design, modern luxury presence, visible wrist appeal | Selective | Demand can vary a lot by model, size, and condition |
| Franck Muller | Vanguard, Cintrée Curvex, Long Island | Distinct design language, strong visual identity | Moderate | Usually depends more on buyer taste and model desirability |
Step four. Do not underestimate timing
If you are not in a hurry, October, November and December are the best months. The weather is cool, tourists are here, people want to buy.
If you are in a hurry, at least don’t go on a Saturday or Sunday morning. The dealers have just come back to work. They are not in the mood to negotiate. Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons are better.
Forget about Ramadan. The market is asleep.
This one simple thing can change your price by a few thousand dirhams.
Step five. Clean the watch but not too much
Look at the edges of the bracelet. If they are dirty, clean them with a soft toothbrush and warm water. Wipe the case with a microfiber cloth.
But never let anyone polish the case. Professional polishing might make the watch look better, but it softens the original lines of the case. A professional buyer will notice this and lower the price.
A lot of people think the shinier the watch, the higher the price. But in the pre owned market, originality matters more than shine.
Clean the watch. Wipe the crystal. Leave it as it is. Natural and real.
Step six. Take good photos
You don’t need a professional camera. Your phone is fine, as long as you have natural light.
Stand near a window. Put the watch on a simple cloth or white wood. Take a photo of the crystal, a photo of the case back, a photo of the bracelet and the clasp.
If the case back is see through, take a photo of the movement too.
Take extra photos. Not just two or three. The more photos you have, the more trust you build.

Step seven. Know your number
Before you step into any shop, go search online. Check the reliable websites. See how much the exact same model with the same year and same papers has sold for.
Then have a number in your head. The number below which you won’t sell.
When the dealer gives you a price, if it is higher than your number, sell it. If it is lower, negotiate. If it is much lower, leave without saying a word.
You can always come back and talk to another dealer. But if you sell in a hurry, you can’t undo regret.
A real example
Someone I know wanted to sell an Audemars Piguet. I went with him. First we went to a shop in the Gold Souk. They offered 45 thousand dirhams.
I said no. We went to another well known dealer who works on Instagram. He looked at it and said 52 thousand.
He still didn’t sell. He waited one week. Through one of his friends, he got introduced to an Emirati collector. He sold it there for 59 thousand dirhams.
Fourteen thousand dirhams difference. Just by waiting and having the right connection.
One last thing
If you have the papers, if you know the model, if you know the right price, and if you are not in a hurry, you will get a good price.
Dubai is full of money and full of buyers. But it is also full of professional sellers. If you are not professional yourself, they will get ahead of you.
So do your homework first. Then go. Then sell.
If you do this, you won’t regret it.
